• To follow the procedures, policies and techniques of service.
• To have full understanding of the menu preparations to ensure good salesmanship.
• To co-ordinate the work of subordinates and maintain the established procedures and policies.
• To recommend menu items and beverage if necessary.
• To communicate efficiently with the kitchen.
• To help prepare training programs for staff.
• To promote good working atmosphere with emphasis in enhancing relations with subordinates.
• To enforce the personal appearance of the staff and punctuality.
• To greet guests, handle comments and problems whenever required and promote sales to meet forecasted revenues.
• To recommend menu items and beverages to guests, as well as taking orders.
• To converse with guests to maintain a good relationship as well as extending personal touch.
• To make requisition for supplies in order to maintain stock level.
• To take over the duties of the assistant restaurant manager in his absence.
• To carry out any other duties as and when required by the restaurant manager.
