Jiang Haiyang University is a university jointly built by the Ministry of Natural Resources and the People's Government of Zhejiang Province, and is one of the key construction universities in Zhejiang Province. The school was founded in 1958 and was originally named Zhoushan Fisheries College. In 1975, it was renamed Zhejiang Fisheries College. In 1998, it merged with Zhoushan Normal College to form Zhejiang Ocean College. After 2000, schools (units) such as Zhoushan Health School, Zhejiang Fisheries School, Zhejiang Marine Fisheries Research Institute, Zhoushan Petrochemical School, and Zhoushan Commercial School merged and entered successively. In 2016, it became its current name.
