Front Office Management Trainee
As a Front Office Management Trainee at voco Beijing Temple of Heaven, you will gain hands-on experience in one of the most important guest-facing departments of the hotel. The Front Office team plays a central role in the guest journey, from arrival and check-in to guest communication, service coordination, problem-solving and departure.
This program is designed for young hospitality talents who want to develop practical operational skills while also learning how a professional international hotel department works from a management perspective. You will support daily Front Office tasks, communicate with domestic and international guests, and learn how the hotel creates smooth, friendly and memorable guest experiences.
Throughout the traineeship, you will develop important Management Trainee skills such as guest communication, service recovery, teamwork, attention to detail, cross-department coordination, operational discipline and service leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Support daily Front Office operations in line with voco and IHG service standards.
- Welcome and assist guests in a warm, friendly and professional manner.
- Assist with guest arrivals, check-ins, check-outs, inquiries and service requests.
- Provide accurate information about hotel facilities, restaurants, transportation, local attractions and guest services.
- Communicate confidently with international guests in English and support basic Chinese communication when needed.
- Help identify guest preferences and provide personalized service whenever possible.
- Handle guest questions, requests and basic concerns with patience, professionalism and a positive attitude.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Concierge and other departments to follow up on guest needs.
- Support smooth communication between guests and internal hotel teams during daily operations.
- Observe and learn how Front Office supervisors and managers organize shifts, manage guest flow and maintain service quality.
- Support busy arrival and departure periods while maintaining efficiency and service consistency.
- Participate in daily training focused on guest service, hotel knowledge, communication and operational standards.
- Maintain a polished professional appearance and follow hotel grooming, uniform and service behavior standards.
- Develop a management mindset by understanding guest satisfaction, team coordination, service recovery and operational consistency.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by department leaders or the management team.
Food & Beverage Management Trainee
As a Food & Beverage Management Trainee at voco Beijing Temple of Heaven, you will gain hands-on experience in the daily operations of the hotel's Food & Beverage department, with a special focus on restaurant service, guest interaction, buffet operations and international hospitality standards.
This program is designed for young hospitality talents who want to develop practical service skills while also understanding Food & Beverage operations from a management perspective. You will support the restaurant team during daily service, communicate with guests, assist with dining arrangements, and learn how a professional F&B team maintains service quality, hygiene standards, teamwork and guest satisfaction.
Throughout the traineeship, you will develop key Management Trainee skills such as guest communication, cross-cultural service, teamwork, multitasking, problem-solving, attention to detail, operational discipline and service leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Support daily Food & Beverage service operations in line with voco and IHG service standards.
- Warmly greet guests, guide them to their tables and create a welcoming dining experience.
- Introduce the Brazilian churrascaria dining concept, signature grilled meats, buffet highlights and restaurant atmosphere.
- Engage proactively with guests to understand their preferences, such as dietary restrictions, favorite dishes or special occasions.
- Help personalize the dining experience for birthdays, anniversaries, celebrations or other special guest moments.
- Bring positive energy to the dining floor and support the team in creating a lively, festive restaurant atmosphere.
- Attend to guest needs in a timely and friendly manner, including refilling drinks, clearing plates and assisting with special requests.
- Support pre-service preparation, including setting up dining tables, arranging utensils and ensuring the restaurant is clean, tidy and well-stocked.
- Assist the churrascaria service team with buffet station support, food replenishment and service flow.
- Maintain strict hygiene, safety and cleanliness standards during service.
- Support post-service duties such as clearing tables, resetting dining areas and assisting with cleaning and sanitizing procedures.
- Communicate clearly with guests, supervisors, kitchen teams and service colleagues to ensure smooth operations.
- Observe and learn how Food & Beverage supervisors organize service teams, manage busy periods and maintain guest satisfaction.
- Participate in training focused on international service standards, hygiene, safety, customer service, teamwork and cross-cultural communication.
- Develop a management mindset by understanding service quality, guest satisfaction, team coordination and operational consistency.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by department leaders or the management team.
Requirements
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
- Basic Chinese communication ability is a plus.
- Hospitality, tourism, hotel operations, restaurant service or customer-service background is preferred, but not required.
- Positive attitude and strong willingness to learn.
- Passion for hospitality, guest service, dining service and international hotel operations.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
