About the program
As a Management Trainee, you will be immersed in the core operations of a luxury restaurant and bar, focusing on impeccable guest service, the foundations of food and beverage management, and the renowned Shangri-La hospitality culture.
Key responsibilities
Front Office Management Trainee
- Meet and greet guests, handle requests and complaints, and ensure maximum guest satisfaction and recognition to encourage return business, all in line with the hotel's standard operating procedures.
Food & Beverage Management Trainee
- Greet and welcome every guest warmly at the entrance of the restaurant.
- Make sure the restaurant is fully ready before opening, including cleanliness and operating equipment.
- Keep a polished personal appearance and professional uniform to hotel standards.
- Know the restaurant's menu offerings, including daily specials.
- Manage reservations and note guest preferences for personalised service.
- Escort guests to their table, keeping seating smooth and in line with service flow.
- Stay attentive to guest needs throughout their visit and respond proactively.
- Resolve guest concerns where possible and promptly report issues to your supervisor.
- Support beverage and food service during peak times.
- Keep hostess stations, menus and surrounding areas clean and well presented.
Requirements
- Fluent English; additional language skills are a plus.
- At least 3 months of experience in hospitality or customer service.
- Friendly, welcoming personality with excellent communication skills.
- High attention to detail and a commitment to guest satisfaction.
- Well-groomed and professional at all times.
- Comfortable adapting to a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Motivated to grow into a future leadership role in food and beverage or hotel operations.
