About the program
As a Front Office Management Trainee at Le Méridien Changzhou, you will gain hands-on experience in several important guest-facing areas of the hotel, including the Concierge, Lobby and Executive Lounge. This position is designed for young hospitality professionals who want to develop their confidence, service awareness, communication skills and operational understanding in an international hotel environment. The Front Office team plays a key role in shaping the guest journey. From welcoming guests and assisting with luggage to maintaining lobby order, supporting Executive Lounge service and answering guest inquiries, you will learn how professional service is delivered from both an operational and management perspective. Throughout the traineeship, you will work closely with experienced hotel team members, follow Marriott and Le Méridien service standards, and develop practical Management Trainee skills such as guest communication, service recovery, teamwork, attention to detail, operational discipline and cross-department coordination.
Key responsibilities
Front Office Management Trainee
- Support daily Front Office operations in line with Le Méridien and Marriott service standards.
- Welcome and farewell guests in a warm, professional and confident manner.
- Assist with Concierge duties, including luggage handling, luggage storage, guest directions and general guest assistance.
- Maintain a welcoming and orderly lobby environment throughout daily operations.
- Support Executive Lounge service, including guest reception, lounge assistance, guest communication and service follow-up.
- Provide accurate information about hotel facilities, restaurants, transportation, local attractions and guest services.
- Assist guests with inquiries and requests using clear, polite and professional communication.
- Communicate in English with international guests and support simple Chinese communication in daily service situations.
- Work closely with Front Office colleagues, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Concierge and other departments to follow up on guest needs.
- Observe and learn how supervisors and managers organize lobby flow, guest arrivals, VIP service and daily operational tasks.
- Follow department rules, standard operating procedures, grooming standards and professional service behavior.
- Support the team during busy periods while maintaining a positive attitude, efficiency and service quality.
- Participate in daily departmental training to improve guest service skills, hotel knowledge and operational awareness.
- Develop a management mindset by understanding not only how to complete tasks, but also why service consistency, teamwork and guest satisfaction are important to hotel operations.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by department leaders or the management team.
Requirements
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Basic Chinese communication ability is preferred.
- Good computer skills and ability to use office software.
- Positive attitude and strong willingness to learn.
- Passion for hospitality, guest service and international hotel operations.
- Professional appearance, polite behavior and strong service awareness.
- Responsible, flexible, disciplined and team-oriented.
- Ability to work according to department schedules and operational needs.
- Interest in Front Office, Concierge, Lobby service, Executive Lounge service and hotel management.
- Previous experience in hospitality, front office, guest relations, concierge or customer service is a plus.
