Front Office Management Trainee
As a Front Office Management Trainee at Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace, you will gain practical experience in one of the most important guest-facing departments of the hotel. The Front Office team plays a central role in the guest journey, from arrival and check-in to guest communication, service coordination, cashiering, problem-solving and departure.
This traineeship is designed for young hospitality talents who want to develop professional service skills while also learning how a hotel department operates from a management perspective. You will support daily Front Office operations, communicate with domestic and international guests, and observe how supervisors and managers organize shifts, maintain service standards and handle guest satisfaction.
Throughout the program, you will develop practical Management Trainee skills such as guest communication, service recovery, teamwork, attention to detail, operational awareness, cross-department coordination and service leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Support daily Front Office operations in line with Crowne Plaza and IHG service standards.
- Welcome and assist guests in a friendly, confident and professional manner.
- Assist with guest arrivals, registration, check-ins, check-outs, room changes and departure procedures.
- Provide accurate information about hotel facilities, services, promotions, transportation and local attractions.
- Help guests with inquiries, requests and basic concerns in a patient and service-minded way.
- Support cashiering procedures, including handling payments, maintaining accuracy and following hotel financial standards.
- Assist guests with foreign exchange or safety box services according to hotel procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of room status, reservations, guest profiles and daily hotel operations.
- Support VIP guests and loyalty program members by providing attentive and personalized service.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping, Reservations, Food & Beverage, Concierge and other departments to follow up on guest needs.
- Handle guest complaints or service issues professionally and refer complex situations to supervisors or managers when needed.
- Support night shift duties when required, including checking reports and preparing forms for guest arrivals.
- Maintain a clean, organized and professional Front Desk working area.
- Follow hotel standard operating procedures, grooming standards and professional behavior expectations.
- Participate in daily briefings, training sessions and department meetings.
- Observe and learn how Front Office supervisors manage guest flow, team coordination, service quality and operational challenges.
- Develop a management mindset by understanding how Front Office service affects guest satisfaction, hotel reputation and overall operations.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by department leaders or the management team.
Food & Beverage Management Trainee
As a Food & Beverage Management Trainee at Crowne Plaza Beijing Sun Palace, you will gain hands-on experience in the hotel's Food & Beverage Service department. This role is designed for young hospitality talents who want to understand restaurant and service operations from both a practical and management perspective.
You will support the Food & Beverage team in daily service preparation, restaurant operations, function setup, mini-bar procedures, guest communication and service follow-up. You will also learn how supervisors and managers organize teams, prepare outlets for service, maintain hygiene standards and ensure a smooth guest dining experience.
Throughout the traineeship, you will develop important Management Trainee skills such as guest communication, service awareness, teamwork, multitasking, attention to detail, operational discipline, hygiene awareness and service leadership.
Key responsibilities
- Support daily Food & Beverage operations in line with Crowne Plaza and IHG service standards.
- Assist with restaurant service preparation, including mise en place, table setup, equipment preparation and service station organization.
- Welcome guests warmly and provide friendly, professional and attentive dining service.
- Assist with food and beverage service, buffet preparation, table clearing and guest follow-up.
- Support preparation for functions, events and service periods according to hotel operation needs.
- Help maintain glassware, flatware, china, service equipment and dining areas in clean and ready-to-use condition.
- Assist with receiving, storing and organizing Food & Beverage goods and supplies.
- Support mini-bar operations, including checking stock, replacing items, recording usage and following hotel billing procedures.
- Maintain hygiene, cleanliness, safety and service standards at all times.
- Follow local regulations, hotel policies and brand standards related to health, safety and compliance.
- Communicate clearly with guests, supervisors, kitchen teams, service colleagues and other departments.
- Support the team during busy service periods while maintaining efficiency, calmness and professionalism.
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues.
- Attend and participate in daily briefings, department meetings and scheduled training sessions.

Requirements
- Fluent English communication skills.
- Basic Chinese communication ability is a plus.
- Familiarity with Opera, Microsoft Office or hotel systems is preferred.
- Positive attitude and strong willingness to learn.
